SB 201 Labor and Industrial Relations; employees to use sick leave for the care of immediate family members; allow

Voted on Monday March 20, 2017

Michael Caldwell's thoughts

This legislation places a state mandate on private business owners that if they have more than 25 employees that provide sick days to employees, that they allow those employees to use them when family is sick instead of themselves. This is government intervention in private companies' relationships with their employees. As an employer, this is one more place that the government believes they know my business better than me. I say no.
