HB 930 Georgia Regional Transportation Authority; creation of certain community improvement districts; provisions

Voted on Wednesday February 28, 2018

Michael Caldwell's thoughts

This legislation would establish a transit authority to be known as the "ATL. Although the bill is very well intentioned, there were several provisions I couldn't support in this version of the bill:
It would add:
$0.50 fee to every ride share trip (Uber, Lyft, etc.)
$0.01 tax on every consumer good purchased at the airport
It would also allow every county in the 13 county region to add another penny sales tax to their citizens for transit funding.
