HB 920 Domestic relations; department’s information concerning the parties to an adoption under certain circumstances; allow for the use

Voted on Thursday March 1, 2018

Michael Caldwell's thoughts

This clarifies that foster records identifying the child, biological parents, or adoptive
parents may only be accessed by the Department of Human Services if the child dies, suffers a near fatality, or is the alleged victim of abuse/neglect. The bill also clarifies that these records are not subject to public disclosure.
