HB 88 Superior courts; qualifications for judges; revise

Voted on Tuesday February 7, 2017

Michael Caldwell's thoughts

Our law is clear that in order to run to be a Superior Court Judge, you must be an active and qualified attorney. The code has not been clear as to whether or not, once qualified, if an attorney is disbarred if they can continue in their election or action as a Judge. This legislation would require that if an attorney is disbarred that they be removed from their Superior Court Judgeship.
