HB 696 Sales and use tax; certain computer equipment sold or leased to certain entities for use in high-technology data centers; create exemption

Voted on Wednesday February 28, 2018

Michael Caldwell's thoughts

This legislation would create a sales use tax exemption for computer equipment used in new data centers. This exemption would only apply to projects exceeding $250m in construction costs though, which creates a dramatic competitive disadvantage for smaller players.
