HB 338 Education; system of supports and assistance for low-performing schools in the greatest need; provisions

Voted on Wednesday March 1, 2017

Michael Caldwell's thoughts

This legislation establishes a "Chief Turnaround Officer" appointed by the State Board of Education to aid in working with failing schools and bring additional resources to those schools. It does not render control of the school to the state, but instead provides the state DOE the ability and resources it needs to empower locals to turn their schools around.
