This accomplishes four objectives:
(1) It eliminates tax brackets in Georgia and flattens the tax. (No more, 1%, 2%, 6%- now 5.4%)
(2) It removes double deduction bringing us in line with 46 other states.
(3) This would establish an earned income credit (at 10% of the federal earned income credit) to ensure this does not have a regressive effect on the lowest of wage earners.
(4) This indexes for inflation as well so that Georgians aren't inadvertently paying higher taxes as the dollar becomes less valuable.
