HB 243 Minimum wage; require additional pay to employees based on schedule changes; preempt local government mandates

Voted on Wednesday February 22, 2017

Michael Caldwell's thoughts

This prevents a local government from mandating 'predictive scheduling' on private businesses. Without this prohibition, they could force employers to pay penalties to employees for changing schedules; and local governments around the country have enforced it through refusal of business licenses. Can we, perhaps, just let our business owners...do business?
