HB 217 Income tax credit; certain scholarship organizations; increase amount of the aggregate cap on contributions

Voted on Tuesday February 28, 2017

Michael Caldwell's thoughts

This legislation expands the current qualified education expense (QEE) tax credit program. It is currently capped at $58 million statewide (which is reached before lunch time on the first day its made available every year). This would set it to $65 million with a 10% increase each year if its cap is achieved the previous year (ultimately limited at $100 million).
