HB 126 Courts; Judicial Qualifications Commission; change provisions

Voted on Thursday February 9, 2017

Michael Caldwell's thoughts

This legislation makes several updates to the act from 2016 establishing a new Judicial Qualifications Commission. In broad strokes, it will be expanding this body from seven to ten members, then splitting that panel into an "Investigative Panel" and a "Hearing Panel" to eliminate the conflict of interest that currently exists for investigators hearing their own findings.
