February 14th 2017 Local Legislation Calendar

Voted on Tuesday February 14, 2017

Michael Caldwell's thoughts

I was off the floor for this vote speaking to the Cherokee Association of Realtors who were visiting the capitol today. I would have been a "YES" vote.

This was a single vote that encompassed four local bills. Local bills are bills sponsored by a county delegation, typically on behalf of local government, and are rarely opposed as long as the delegation presenting is in agreement.

This calendar included:
HB 284 - Crisp County; Board of Education; change compensation of members
HB 294 - Coffee County; board of education; change compensation of members
HB 295 - Douglas, City of; office of mayor; revise provisions for filling vacancies
HB 296 - Douglas, City of; Redevelopment Powers Law; provide for referendum
